On July 3, 2019, the Government of Mongolia issued Resolution No. 280, “On the Establishment of the Chinggis Khaan National Museum.” To commemorate the 7th anniversary of the full implementation of this historic decision by the state, the museum team has published and presented a new book titled “Historical Chronicle of the Chinggis Khaan National Museum.”

Over the past years, the collective effort and hard work of the Mongolian people to establish a museum named after the Great Khaan yielded significant progress in a short period, leading to the museum opening its doors to the public in October 2022. Since then, over the past four years, the museum staff has fulfilled its core mission: immortalizing the legacy of the Great Khaan, promoting it domestically and internationally, and conducting research and public enlightenment. To preserve this fresh history and honor the organizations and teams who built it, the museum management decided to document these key events for future generations.

Although relatively newly established, the Chinggis Khaan National Museum represents a major step toward developing a comprehensive research center dedicated to the history and legacy of Chinggis Khaan and transforming Mongolian history into a center of cultural enlightenment. The book documents the entire seven-year process of the museum’s establishment and includes all key contributors. According to Museum

Director Academician S. Chuluun, the publication was prepared over a two-year period and officially launched today.

The book was conceptualized and edited by Museum Director Academician S. Chuluun. It was compiled and developed by D. Nyamjav, former Head of the Administration and Management Department, Dr. D. Erdmaa, and Senior Researcher B. Batbaatar, and documented with photography by archive specialist O. Uuganbaatar. The book is structured into three main chapters.

The first section covers the museum’s site, building construction, infrastructure, interior design, collection development, exhibition design, opening ceremony, international relations, visiting dignitaries, publications, academic conferences, archaeological research, marketing, merchandising, educational programs, domestic and international exhibitions, the “Ikh Khuruldai” tourism complex, the “Cultural Revival 2023” campaign, as well as the museum’s orchestra, shop, café, and more than 20 subtopics.

The second section povides a detailed, chronological record of the museum's core activities from 2019 to 2026, substantiated by photographs and original copies of historical resolutions and decisions.

The third section introduces the museum staff and includes the names of individuals and organizations from both the public and private sectors who contributed to the museum’s construction, along with their works and projects, preserving their contributions for historical record.

The book “Historical Chronicle of the Chinggis Khaan National Museum (2019-2026)” documents over 400 key events, includes the names of more than 500 contributors and over 1,000 invited guests at the opening ceremony, and presents approximately 1,400 photographs, 51 official resolutions, and around 10 diagrams. With a total of 480 pages, it stands as the first comprehensive historical publication documenting the establishment of the museum.
